DAMASCUS, December 30 (Prensa Latina) At least 10 employees of the Al-Taym oil field in the Deir Ezzor governorate in eastern Syria were killed today due to terrorist acts, according to what was reported by the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources of this Arab nation.

The authority explained, through a statement, that three buses heading to that location were attacked, resulting in the immediate death of 10 workers and the injury of six others.

The ministry did not give details of who was responsible for this action, but analysts and local media attributed it to the terrorist organization of the Islamic State, ISIS in Arabic, whose remnants frequently attack civilian gatherings, military sites and infrastructures in the vast desert. Badia region in the east of the country.

The sources said that the attack comes in the midst of a severe energy crisis in the country due to the blockade imposed by the United States and its Western allies, which indicates that this measure is being paid for and organized from abroad to further exacerbate the shortage of hydrocarbons.

Similar attacks took place over the past two years, claiming the lives of dozens of civilians and soldiers, in the eastern governorates of Hama, Raqqa, and Deir Ezzor.

According to previous allegations from Damascus, US forces illegally present in the Tanif region in the east provide logistical support, protection, and intelligence to ISIS terrorists to attack the Syrian army, its allies, and civilian societies.

In turn, the operations officials revealed that ISIS cells are particularly active in the southern and eastern regions of Deir ez-Zor and Homs governorates, as these areas are geographically linked to Al-Tanif, where extremists protect themselves after carrying out their attacks.
