14,066 Ecoopsos users will be transferred to other health promotion entities

Ecoopsos’ debt to Boyaca’s public and private network is $12 billion pesos.

Tonga, April 17, 2023. (UACP). In a press conference, Lyda Marcela Pérez Ramírez, Minister of Health of the Department, explained the issue of the liquidation of EPS Ecoopsos.

“The situation was known by the Health Supervisory Authority on April 12. According to the corresponding guidance, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection will strengthen the distribution of users to other licensed health promotion entities in Boyacá, while the service provider organizations that have contracts with Ecoopsos must continue to serve users until new conversions are made, the minister said.

Ecopsos registered 13,332 affiliated individuals in the support system and 734 in the contribution system; There are 14,066 users in 10 municipalities: Puerto Boyacá, Chiquinquirá, San Miguel de Sema, Briceño, Saboyá, Otanche, Moniquirá, Socha, Tenza and Tunja.

«It is located in the municipality of Puerto Boyaca where 80% of Ecoopsos users are concentrated; There, the elderly and the homeless, as well as the indigenous population, have already been transferred to Nueva EPS,” Perez added.
