Phoenix – Gary Sanchez hit Homer in two rounds to make the third in six, Dylan Bundy made eight effective runs and the Minnesota Twins beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-1 on Saturday.
The twins took a 6-0 lead with the big third inning, and were highlighted by the two-swinging giant Sánchez Homer, who fell into the left-center bench. This was the eighth home tour of the season for the two-time All-Star team.
Alex Kirilloff, recently recalled from Triple-A, has added a double run. The twins did plenty of offensive damage even without superstar Byron Buxton, who had already scheduled a day off.
Bundy retired (4-3) in the first 10 players he faced before Alec Thomas was left alone in the middle of the field.
It was a tough night for quarterback D Luke Weaver (1-1), who allowed nine games to be earned in 10 strokes in 3 and 2/3 runs. Walked one and hit five.
For the twins, Venezuelan Luis Arriez scored 2-2 and two runs; Dominican Gary Sanchez 3-1, scored one and two RBIs, Gilberto Celestino 2-0.
For the Diamondbacks, Venezuela’s David Peralta 3-1, and Dominican Geraldo Perdomo 3-0.
