Authorities said the suspect ends up injured and taken to hospital after a shootout with police in North Phoenix

PHOENIX – A suspect has been hospitalized after a police shooting in North Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers were called to the scene near 24th Street and Greenway Road just before 8 p.m.

Police say there are no reports of civilians or other officers injured. The suspect’s condition is currently unknown.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area during a police investigation.

Police said it was not yet clear what motive was behind the shooting.
