Telephone conversations between the Syrian President and the King of Jordan

Damascus, October 3 (Prince Latina) Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and King Abdullah II of Jordan held talks today, the first of their kind since the outbreak of the war in Syria in 2011.
The press office of the Syrian presidency stated that the talks took place over the phone and dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance joint cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

Similarly, the authorities of the two countries announced the reopening of the borders in a move aimed at reactivating the movement of passengers and goods.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad affirmed in recent press statements that Syria welcomes any initiative to restore relations with Arab countries.

In turn, Vice-Chancellor Ayman Susan spoke, in similar statements, about a positive change in the world and about the increasing number of countries that intend to establish channels of communication with Damascus.
