Pablo Larren is going through sweet months. After the premiere of his miniseries based on Stephen King’s novel, Lizzie’s story (Apple TV +), the Chilean director is promoting an entire season SpencerHis movie about Mrs. Di That arrives in theaters in the US and UK on Friday and marks the Oscars.
Amidst the praise for his film starring Kristen Stewart, questions were raised in the media about whether he would be interested in making a film that would continue his feature film trajectory about Jacqueline Kennedy (Jackie, 2016) and Princess Diana: Free selfies of powerful female characters under siege from the public lens.
In conversation with Variety Medium, Film Director club (2015) confirms these wishes, stating that this new story will once again feature a novel heroine. “She’ll be a lady in heels,” he said.
In the same way, he stated that this third film will give an epilogue to his Hollywood trilogy. “I don’t want to spend my whole life making this kind of movie,” the director said. “I love them, but I think it’s good to put an end to that.”
Larren also indicated if he would be interested in crowning that series of CVs Tape about Britney Spears, a prospect that caught the attention of British and American specialists.
Although the director admitted that I’m “extremely curious, in particular, about his relationship with the media,” he’s not convinced he can make a movie about the pop princess, and is today in the spotlight of the impending #FreeBritney movement. “I worked around the lives of certain people and it wasn’t really a biographical movie. I think the concept of an autobiography is a bit of a fantasy. How weird would it be to make a movie about someone like Britney Spears and who would play him? Will she play by herself? Would someone else play it and then she would be willing to watch herself played by someone else? I think this process is really weird. If it was a fancy style for her, it could be a lot of fun.”
So far, Larryn has not announced what number he will dedicate to the final part of his trilogy and whether this feature film will be the next thing he shoots yet. Spencer (In Chilean cinemas January 20, 2022).
