According to preliminary results, “En Contra” was a hit in New Zealand and Australia

According to the preliminary results of this Sunday's constitutional referendum, the “against” option won in New Zealand and Australia, 24horas.cl.

Preliminary results show that the “Against” option won with 617 votes in New Zealand, while the “For” option won 182 votes.

Specifically, 649 people voted at five tables in Auckland. Among them, 490 voted “against” the option (75.5%), 152 “for” (23.4%), 5 null (0.77%) and 2 (0.3%) blank.

On the other hand, in Wellington, 157 people voted in three tables, where 127 were “against” (80.89%), 30 were “for” (19.1%) and zero were null and void.

For Australia, the “Against” option won in Sydney with 671 votes (66.9%) in 8 activated tables, while the “For” option received 316 votes (31.5%). Meanwhile, 10 were null (1%) and 7 blank (0.7%).

For its part, the table in Canberra, the federal capital of Australia, closed with 36 votes “in favor” of the new proposal, that is, 32.7% of preferences, and 73 votes “against”.

It is worth mentioning that this city had achieved a total of 110 votes. There were only one null and zero blank votes.

Counting continues in Melbourne.

These results are pending the official count provided by the Chilean Electoral Service starting this Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Voting is mandatory for electors with electoral residence in Chile, but voting is required for those residing abroad.
