Air New Zealand reveals the prices of its new Economy Class sleeping pods

The Skynest will be a structured rest area for long-haul economy class passengers with six sleeping modules in a bunk configuration.

Each capsule includes a normal-sized pillow, sheets and blanket, earplugs, an independent reading light, a USB socket for personal devices, a ventilation socket and lamps designed for relaxation.

Each passenger is entitled to one seat and families traveling on the same ticket can book one seat for each passenger.

The Skynest sits between Premium Economy and Economy, and each capsule has a separate seat belt so that passengers can fumble and fumble if the seat belt is identified. The bed will be changed between each session, allowing for a 30-minute changeover time. At the end of each session the lights will be turned on slowly and the crew will gently wake sleeping passengers.

“We’re still working out the exact details of the booking process and pricing. Right now we’re looking at 400 to 600 New Zealand dollars (between US$254 and 382) for a 4-hour session,” Geraghty said.
