Air New Zealand’s Skynest to offer cabins with bunk beds in economy class seats by 2024

Air New Zealand has released more details about its Skynest, the world’s first sky sleeping pods. With this, long-distance travelers can travel more comfortably.

SkyNest is the most recent example, and we’re proud to lead the way with this world-first cabin feature.

Skynest to appear on ultra-long-haul flights: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our innovative economy Skynest on ultra-long-haul flights, Starting with the popular Auckland – New York and Auckland – Chicago routesGeraghty explained. “North America is the perfect market for Skynest because it has a premium segment that values ​​comfort and sleep during long-haul travel.”

Details about Skynest:

· The Skynest will be a six-block built-in lounge area, offering budget travelers reclining sessions on long-haul journeys. It will be available from September 2024.

· Each set includes a full size pillow, sheets and a blanketearplugs, a separate reading lamp, a USB outlet for personal devices, a ventilation outlet, and lamps designed for relaxation.

· Each passenger is limited to one session and families traveling on the same ticket can book one session per passenger. Skynest offers economy class passengers another opportunity to lie down and relax during long flights.

· Skynest sits between Premium Economy and EconomyAnd each module comes with a separate seat belt, passengers can fasten them and stay in the module if the seat belt signal comes up during turbulence.

· Bed linen is changed between each session, and a 30-minute transition time is allowed for this. At the end of each session the lights are dimmed, and sleeping passengers are politely awakened by the crew.
