Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee won the inaugural RBF Awards, the Barcelona Reggaeton Awards, organized by DQuality Group, the awards’ promoters said Saturday.

The ceremony took place in the old Estrella Damm factory and was attended by artists from the audio-visual Reggaeton industry, as well as “influencers” and creators of Spanish-language content.

However, the event did not have a personal audience and could be followed through the social network Twitch.

Bad Bunny won the award as the best international star 2020-21, Rosalía did it as the best national star 2020-21 and Daddy Yankee as the best star in history.

The winning songs were “Safaera” by Bad Bunny, Jowell, Randy and Ñeng Flow, as an international theme, and “Tú dejaste de Querer” by C Tangana in the national category. The award for best song in history went to “Jasolina” by Daddy Yankee.

Organizers have created 27 categories divided into three groups: international, historical and national, featuring more than a hundred finalists and selected with a vote of 90,000 followers of this musical style, according to the DQuality Group.

The ceremony combined the traditional red carpet and awards ceremony with digital performances with raffles, giveaways, games, interviews and performances by local and international artists.

Ñengo Flow, Amenazzy, RVFV, Lenni Rodríguez, Fabbio Colloricchio, Maikel Delacalle, Gigolo, La Exce, Aina da Silva, Jeipy and Moncho Chavea performed live. (I)
