Bolsonaro’s former aide is silent about the coup and the jewelry case in Brazil

The soldier has been held since May 3 on charges of embezzling COVID-19 vaccination cards from his former boss and his daughter, Laura.

The then ruler’s advisers tried to release the jewels. A second package containing a watch and rings was passed irregularly through customs in a rucksack worn by a uniformed man and incorporated into Bolsonaro’s personal legacy.

Investigations indicated that the far-right politician kept a third set of clothes that included a Rolex watch, which he would later sell to Cid in the United States.

After the story broke in March, the Federal Court of Accounts decided that Bolsonaro should return the gifts, prompting his family’s lawyer, Frederic Wassef, to buy back the watch to hand it over to the government.

Sid was trying to sell other things abroad, but he had no buyers.

In August, his father, General Mauro César Lorena Cid, was one of the targets of a search and seizure by the Federal Police (PF) for his alleged participation in the illegal sale of jewelry and gifts Bolsonaro had received.

The suspicion is that the general acted with the son in the sale of luxury goods received by the former president.

In addition to the arrest of the former deputy and five other suspects, police forces executed search and arrest warrants at Bolsonaro’s home and confiscated documents and mobile phones.
