The United Kingdom has removed the majority of Latin American countries from its red list of dangerous destinations due to the Covid pandemic.
Now only seven countries, all from Latin America, remain on that list. it’s about Colombia, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, which will remain subject to sanitary restrictions.
Of the 47 countries and regions that will be freed from this restriction next Monday, all the rest of the region, from Chile to Mexico, through Brazil or Cuba.
And the British authorities announced in a statement that 47 countries in the world had withdrawn from the new list, which will enter into force on October 11.
People who have been fully vaccinated under a recognized national program in the UK and who come from these origins will not have to provide a negative Covid-19 test before boarding, or take two PCR tests upon arrival in England.

Venezuela is one of the seven countries next to the Red List.
Those who have not been vaccinated or the program is not recognized in their country by London, will continue to self-isolate at home for 10 days and take two mandatory PCR reports.
Britons returning to England from now-excluded destinations will not have to quarantine in a hotel.
“Continuing progress in vaccination both in the UK and around the world means the government can confidently reduce the size of its red list to focus on countries that pose the greatest risk,” the statement said.

Britain’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “We are making it easier for families to reunite with their loved ones by significantly reducing the number of destinations on the Red List, thanks to increased vaccination efforts around the world.”
The British government’s move follows complaints from airlines and the tourism sector, who said it was time to ease restrictions.
