Covid-19: Health reaches 4,938 injuries, and active cases exceed 52,000

According to Friday’s Covid-19 Dashboard update, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) recorded 4,938 new infections, after conducting 13,722 tests. In addition, 57 deaths corresponding to dates prior to the update have been added to the record.

As of the date of publication of this note, official data adds up to 52,467 active cases and 12,155 deaths. So far, public data at the national level have recorded 484,263 injuries, of which 419,636 have recovered.

The MSPAS database shows that among the confirmed cases, the three municipalities with the highest number of positivity were Guatemala with 1,340, which is 40%; Mixco with 292 accounts for 37% and Villa Nueva 168 which accounts for 30%.

According to the Covid-19 Dashboard, people between the ages of 20 and 29 prevail in the number of confirmed cases, which is a record number of 126,296 cases; While between 30 and 39 years old, their total is 116,458.

To date, the death rate is 68 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, and the mortality rate is 2.5%. On the other hand, 67% of deaths were among men and 33% among women.

According to the council, 4,786,631 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been reported so far, of which 3,424,395 correspond to people vaccinated with the first dose and 1,362,236 complete schedules.

The data indicate 70,452 doses were administered on September 2, of which 25,017 were the initial dose and 45,435 were to people who had completed the vaccination schedule.
