Dachser expands into Australia and New Zealand with acquisition of ACA International

German multinational Dachser has acquired ACA International, a privately held company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.

The acquisition means that Dachser’s air and sea freight network now includes Australia and New Zealand, not only economically strong countries, but also closely interconnected with Asia, Europe and North America.

ACA International employs 56 people and generates revenues of approximately €75 million in 2021. Established in 1982, the company provides international transportation services to its customers in Australia and New Zealand with particular emphasis on quality, experience, innovation and collaboration. In Australia, ACA International has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. In New Zealand, the company has offices in Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton. In addition, there is an additional office in Kansas City, USA. ACA International also has a presence in China. However, these Chinese locations are not part of the acquisition; Dachser has been serving its customers in China since 2003 from its own offices.

For the past 14 years, ACA International has been led by experienced air and sea freight logistics specialist Adam Cruttenden, who will take over as Managing Director of ASL Oceania. “This acquisition allows Dachser Air & Sea Logistics to continue its growth trajectory and completes our global network of fully owned offices by adding Australia and New Zealand,” said Edoardo Podestà, COO ASL and Managing Director ASL APAC. “That means we can offer our clients direct access to dynamic economic markets with attractive local conditions and significant levels of investment.”
