After a hypothetical hearing, the probation judge agreed to change the procedure, at the request of the former governor’s lawyers, who argue poor health.

Jaime Rodriguez Calderon will face the operation in his home, located in the municipality of Garcia, once he is released from the University Hospital, his legal defense said.

In May, doctors remove two polyps after undergoing a colonoscopy. Tumors will be analyzed to rule out the possibility of colon cancer.

The former governor faces charges of electoral crimes for allegedly using officials from the Nuevo Leon government to collect signatures of the citizen’s support he needs to run as an independent presidential candidate in 2018.

At the beginning of the month, his protective custody was withdrawn due to the process he is facing from abuse of power, resulting from the confiscation of assets against the company that operates Ecovía in the state.

Bronco was arrested on March 15 for electoral crimes, and a day later he was linked to the operation and a probation judge decided to order pre-trial detention as a precaution.
