Due to poor sanitation, the Pereira Health Secretariat closed down a food preparation establishment

Through the sanitary inspection and control activities carried out by the staff of the Pereira Health Secretary, as part of the follow-up to the complaint submitted by the community, review and verify the sanitary conditions of a food center located in the city center. Risaraldense is the capital.

Cristina Parra, Head of Environmental Health at the Pereira Health Secretariat, noted: “While developing the process, we visited 6 food preparation establishments in which we found ourselves having to temporarily close one of them, as we found pests in the processing area, poor food handling practices and deficiencies in cleaning and disinfection activities.”

It is estimated that the closure period is indefinite, as the restaurant will have to correct health results to administer a new examination that allows for examination and assessment of the possibility of reopening.

The Ministry of Health calls on the owners and administrators of this type of establishment to take the necessary health measures to ensure the health of customers and their workers.
