The Spanish Association of Foreign Press Correspondents The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) has announced that it has been awarded the ACPE Award. Placido Domingo “for his phenomenal career”

“Singer and conductor, tenor – and baritone since 2009 – is a versatile artist who has performed over 150 roles, acclaiming audiences on stage all over the world. Placido Domingo has received many awards for his work and also for his humanitarian commitment.”

“Promoter of young talents and founder of Operalia, the world’s most famous international singing competition, a global ambassador of Spanish and Zarzuela culture. In addition to his work as a singer, he is the leader of a band with more than 500 shows. Plácido Domingo has resumed its musical and opera performances in Spain with a thunderous premiere in the Auditorium of Madrid at a charity concert and performances in Merida and Marbella. His work schedule is full of commitments around the world.”

The ACPE 2020 Annual Awards, which recognize the efforts of eminent professional figures and institutions in various departments, will also be awarded to Susana Gresso, Pau Gasol and Madrid’s historic and unique parks. In the latest edition, Vicente Valles, Rafa Nadal, Antonio Zapatero, Efima, Thyssen-Museum and the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain are honored.

“I thank President Bertrand de la Grange, Secretary General Enrique Sancho, who suggested and contacted me, and all members of the ACPE Board of Directors. This is a great honor for me and without a doubt an unexpected emotion,” declared Placido Domingo, who also confirmed that on September 8 he would not be in Madrid to receive the award – his son, Placido Francisco, would be in his place.

“I admire the intrinsic value of the work of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, which has valued our country for nearly a century by protecting freedom of expression and respecting and rejecting all forms of discrimination and prejudice,” added the Spanish.

Placido Domingo will sing at the Cesky Krumlov Festival directed by Maestro Eugene Kon on September 4, in Belgrade with soprano Anna Perozzi, on the 18th in Moscow with Anna Netrebko on her birthday, on the 25th in Mérida at the Stone and Music Festival with Anna Maria Martinez and Zabir Anduaga.

Later he will return to Florence, Italy, where he will sing in October in the new production of La traviata, signed by David Livermore, at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Maestro Zubin Mehta.
