The African President was greeted at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia, La Guaira State, by Foreign Minister Ivan Gil, who shook the visitor’s hand vigorously at the edge of the plane’s stairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Relations indicated on its Twitter account that the Guinean head of state will hold meetings in order to promote the bilateral cooperation agenda.

The source said that Sissoko, with this visit, reaffirms the historical bonds of brotherhood that “unite our nations and the desire to continue progress in building a map of comprehensive cooperation.”

He stressed that with the arrival of the president, the leadership of South America and Africa are in line with each other to firmly promote the union of the two continents.

Currently, Venezuela and Guinea-Bissau maintain strategic alliances and cooperation in sectors such as health, education, energy, mining and agriculture, for the benefit of the welfare and development of the two peoples.

On April 5, the two countries signed 15 agreements in the areas of strategic cooperation in Caracas, at the end of the first joint commission.

The agreements were signed by the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Public Order of the African State, Soares Sambo.

Gill explained that the documents deal with the fields of agriculture, public works, the judicial sector, mining, air and sea transport, and others.

He stressed that this is a comprehensive cooperation that includes human rights and politics with a vision of south-south development, the foreign ministry revealed.

The head of diplomacy in the Caribbean country noted that these agreements are part of a directive given by Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Umaro Cissoko Embalo, who paid an official visit to Caracas in November 2022.
