With the aim of strengthening the participation of young people and adolescents in public policies, the Directorate of Adolescents and Young People (DIAJU) of the National Department of Health has participated in a training mission targeting those who will integrate the Regional Adolescent Rights Council into health care.

The initiative was promoted by the county, which has come forward with local civil society organizations in forming its own council “so that health decision makers can think about and develop policies that take into account the concerns of teens and young adults from our county,” the regional reference for the Department of Health’s Comprehensive Teen Health Program noted. During the two-day activity in Posadas, the DIAJU technical team presented its strategies to promote adolescent and youth participation, through Participation, a document recording 10 years of experiences of adolescent and youth participation in health programmes. policies; CONSAJU’s first federal diagnosis, which was conducted between July and August 2021 by the six working committees; and organizing the Ideas Forum, which brings together experiences and testimonials from that first meeting held in December 2022.

Likewise, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health’s Comprehensive Adolescent Health Program, DIAJU members met with adolescents and youth from organizations and student centers in the cities of Posadas, Candelaria, Garuba, and Mojon Grande, to move forward. in the local council.

The opening was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Hector Bruisa. Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Health Jorge Franco; regional advocate for the rights of boys, girls, and teens, Rossana Franco; and DIAJU Team Coordinator for Engagement, Matías Muñoz.
