Britain’s Andy Murray (57th in the ATP rankings) is an outstanding tennis player, whatever the surface. However, injuries have seen him miss several tournaments in recent years and he has been a major loser mud when it comes to seeing the Scot’s talent.

from Roland Garros 2017 to date, Murray has only played two clay court tournaments: specifically at the Parisian Grand Slam in 2020 (losing to Stan Wawrinka In the first round) and Masters 1000 out Madrid In 2022 (did not appear in the third round duel vs Novak Djokovic).

Murray’s history with these types of roofs goes back a long way, and boy has he had great results. He has been a semi-finalist at Roland Garros four times (2011, 2014, 2015 and 2017) and has been a three-time Masters 1000 champion (Madrid 2008 and 2015; Rome 2016). In addition, he won another ATP 250 title in Munich in 2015.

2023 seems to be the perfect year for the former number one player to return to this type of tournament and Monte Carlo Seems like a starting point. There, he would make his debut against a very cautious opponent: the Australian Alex de Minor (19).
