It condemned the Israeli restrictions on the entry of aid into Gaza

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, denounced, in his account on Channel

He revealed that the car was rejected because it was transporting scissors used in medical supplies for children.

Medical scissors are now added to a long list of prohibited items that the Israeli authorities classify as “dual-use,” according to what the official criticized.

Lazzarini explained, “The list includes basic and life-saving materials: from anesthesia medications, solar panels, oxygen cylinders, and ventilators, to water purification pills and anti-cancer medications.”

He stressed that it is necessary to facilitate and accelerate the sending of humanitarian supplies and the delivery of basic and critical materials, as the lives of two million people depend on it, and there is no time to waste.

This week, UNRWA also denounced the growing famine in the Gaza Strip and accused Israel of preventing food from entering the Strip.

Hunger is everywhere in Gaza, and the situation in the north is dire, with ground aid being refused despite repeated appeals, the foundation reported in X.

UNRWA is under intense criticism following accusations brought by Benjamin Netanyahu's government against 12 of its 13,000 staff for allegedly participating in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) operation on 7 October.

Both the agency and the United Nations announced an immediate investigation, but several Western countries, including the United States, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, have suspended their funding, although these allegations have not yet been proven.

A few days ago, Lazzarini warned that dismantling the organization would be a short-sighted measure because it would have dire consequences.

He added, “Implementation of this plan is already underway with the destruction of our infrastructure throughout the Gaza Strip.”
