ITAIPU Health GT holds the first workshop to build the strategic plan

The ITAIPU Health Working Group (GT ITAIPU Health) implemented Workshop No. 1 on “Building the Strategic Plan 2025/2030” during the tripartite meeting held on 5 and 6 March 2024 in Foz do Guaçu (Brazil). . This event witnessed the participation of authorities, doctors, technicians and health professionals from Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina; Which is part of ITAIPU Health GT.

The first day opened with a table discussion on “Current Global Health Challenges.” In this session, experts from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) addressed regional challenges and the epidemiological panorama of the tri-border; National agreements and Mercosur agreements; Alignment with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals; In accordance with the objectives of ITAIPU Health GT.

Discussion tables facilitated exchange between technicians from the three countries through guided questions and presentation of group findings. Next, a roundtable discussion was held on “Health in the Paraguay-Brazil-Argentina Tri-Border: Current Situation, Challenges and Strengths”. The third session of the day focused on “What health do we want for the tri-border region? How can we contribute to improving health in this region?”

The previous day began with a brief presentation about ITAIPU Health GT, and its challenges and achievements were highlighted. The presentation was made by the executive team of Paraguay and Brazil. Next, the SWOT matrix (FOFA or SWOT) was presented, which guided the work of the rest of the day to present the group's conclusions and steps to follow at the second national tripartite workshop.

These workshops represent the first of two events aimed at building the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan for ITAIPU Health GT. The opening of the event was attended by Silvia Apente, Head of Social Responsibility Initiatives at Binacional; Claver Vanoli, Alternative Coordinator of ITAIPU Health GT; The executive team of both margins; And health professionals from the three neighboring countries.
