Rome, December 23 (EFE). Italy has fined technology firms Mediamarket, Unieuro, Monclick and DIY Leroy Merlin €10.9 million for unfair trading practices on revolut in the electronic market, the Italian competition and market guarantor body said Thursday. (AGCM).
Specifically, the antitrust body fined Unieuro 4 million euros, Mediamarket 3.6 million, Leroy Merlin 3 million, and Monclick 300,000 euros.
Investigations found that these companies engaged in unfair business practices on their web pages, particularly during the period of the health emergency due to the Corona virus, which they “unnecessarily stipulated when purchasing products.”
It is bad practice to highlight and spread misleading information about actual product availability and prices, and delay and non-delivery of purchases.
They also cited other “aggressive” practices such as the company canceling many orders without informing consumers of them, obstacles to requesting reimbursement, and a lack of after-sales assistance. EFE
