James Cameron Will Scientifically Explain Jack’s Death in Titanic

Twenty-five years after the premiere of “Titanic,” the film’s director, James Cameron, is preparing a documentary that scientifically explains that it would have been impossible for Jack to have survived.

Cameron made this clear in remarks to Canadian outlets Toronto Sun during the promotion in Canada of his new movie, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” to put an end to complaints he had been hearing for more than two decades about the cause. Rose (Kate Winslet) didn’t make room for Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) at the table that saved his life.

In this famous scene, Rose and Jack let go of each other’s hands so that he would end up drowning in the depths of the sea.

Although Cameron has made it clear on numerous occasions that Jack’s death was necessary for narrative reasons, the director confirmed in the interview that he would now establish why Jack could not get out of this situation alive.

“We did a scientific study to put an end to this whole thing and end it once and for all,” the director stated.

To conduct the investigation, the director announced, they had recreated the boat from the film for a “thorough forensic analysis” with a hypothermia expert.

We used two doppelgangers with the same body mass as Kate and Leo and placed sensors all around. We put them in ice water and tested if they could survive through different methods and the answer was that there was no way they could survive. Cameron reasoned that only one could survive.

The result of the analysis will be ready in February 2023 and will be released as a “small special” that will be available on National Geographic.

The documentary will be accompanied by a re-release in theaters around the world of its 4k restoration, on Valentine’s Day.
