Liceu +, the app for digital music lovers, is now available for Samsung Smart TV – Samsung Newsroom Spain

Samsung Electronics Iberia SAU and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona have announced the launch of the Liceu + application for Samsung Smart TV. This is the first version of the original Liceu+ app for connected TVs. As of today, theater lovers, specifically the Liceu, have within their reach the possibility of enjoying the cultural offering of this temple of opera through their Samsung TVs.[1].

The launch of the Liceu + application for Samsung Smart TV is part of the audiovisual project of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, which aims to promote operatic culture, enhance the accessibility of the genre, as well as internationalize its artistic programming, thus transcending regional boundaries.

Samsung Smart TV, the new ally of digital high school students

The Liceu + app for Samsung Smart TV gives access to the audiovisual platform of the Gran Teatre del Liceu. In November 2021, I launched Gran Tetare del Liceu Liceu +, a new and ambitious project that presents audiovisual content for the home in a structured, functional and attractive way. The main goal is to provide open content for all that contributes to making opera more accessible and complements the live opera experience through specific content in artistic season performances, in-depth interviews, podcasts, social and educational projects, and press conferences, among others. The contents of Liceu + are free for all who have a pre-registration. In the context of the theatre’s 175th anniversary, the rostrum is also a space to remember the theatre’s unique and historic moments.

In addition, the application is integrated Liceu + LIVE, Liceu digital subscription. It includes five operas per season in the best image and sound quality (HD), in two modes (Live Direct and Edited Special Edition) for a unique viewing experience. On Saturday, February 25th at 6:40pm, Liceu+ LIVE subscribers will be able to watch a live broadcast of Giuseppe Verdi’s Macbeth on the Liceu+ app for Samsung Smart TV.

In its live version, the broadcast has a master of ceremonies, live chat and the option of subtitles in Catalan, Spanish, English and the original language of the opera. The edited Special Edition, available for two seasons, to be shown as many times as desired, includes new features such as multi-camera production/viewing, monitoring of the score in parallel with the performance, artistic and musical commentary from the conductors or an option to see the opera in action. The digital subscription price is 60 euros per season and 30 euros for Liceu subscribers.
