Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba will showcase new talent at the Spring Gala

Children, teenagers and young adults will storm the Avellaneda Auditorium of the National Theatre, with a display of diversity and grace cultivated in circles of interest, professional workshops, children’s and youth ballets and the troupe’s career.

In this way, the collection presents the achievements of its work to the public on the island and demonstrates the capacity of the people who will define its future, through a variety of pieces specially designed for the occasion.

Dancers ages 6 to 16 will star in popular choreographies within the group’s repertoire such as Mambo Mambuso and Sambeando, by Diana Fernández, Alma Guajira and Daira Jay, among others.

Likewise, urban dance group No One and Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba will take the stage, under the direction of Carmen Souto, who will perform a medley of children’s songs with singer Geydi Chapman.

Three decades after its founding, the group has participated in important international festivals and events, with a variety of acts that blend ballet, flamenco, Cuban and Afro-Cuban folk dances, among other genres.
