Lula arrived in Egypt amid tensions due to the war

The Brazilian governor disembarked the ship at approximately 09:00 local time and headed to Al-Qubba Palace, one of the Egyptian government buildings designated to receive foreign leaders.

Expectations indicate that the South American president will not have any obligations this Wednesday and will use his free time to visit the pyramids in Cairo and the new Egyptian Museum, accompanied by First Lady Rosangela Lula da Silva, popularly known as Ganga. .

Sources close to the Brazilian delegation indicated that Lula will intend, during his stay in Egypt, to address the war between the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement and Israel.

This will be one of the topics that will be discussed in the closed meeting scheduled for tomorrow with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The two sides will also sign agreements, and the bilateral agenda includes issues such as trade, investments, technical cooperation, educational cooperation and defense cooperation.

In addition, they will discuss regional and multilateral issues, such as climate change, reform of international organizations, and the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation. On the same day, the former Union member will visit the headquarters of the Arab League, where he is expected to deliver a speech at the extraordinary plenary session.

Lula is expected to speak in favor of a ceasefire in the region, condemn the killing of women and children during the conflict, and defend an economically viable Palestinian state.

After that visit, the founder of the Labor Party will continue his journey to Ethiopia, where he will participate in the thirty-seventh summit of the African Union and hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of that continent.
