Police have arrested a man accused of shooting a handgun into his neighbor’s wall in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Police said the man barricaded himself inside his apartment on Friday afternoon. Authorities said they were called to Hillcrest Avenue for a report of possible projectiles entering an apartment and causing wall damage.
It was later determined that these projectiles were actually bullets fired through the wall of an adjacent apartment.
When the officers tried to contact the neighbor who had apparently fired the shots, he refused to speak.
On Monday night, authorities arrested 34-year-old Richard Budnick based on a warrant relating to the incident. He faces charges including reckless endangerment in the second degree, and unlawful release of a firearm, among others.
The officers said they were able to reach a safe solution to the situation, with the help of various departments in the area. No injuries were reported, and the incident is still under investigation.
Budnik has been held on a $20,000 bond and is due to appear in court on July 26.
