Manoah and Blue Jays return to the Red Sox

BOSTON – Superstar Alec Manoah made six solid runs and the Toronto Blue Jays relied on their arm more than bats to maintain their seasonal dominance over the Red Sox, with a 4-1 victory over the Boston on Saturday.

A day after Toronto set a team record for most runs in a 28-5 victory, Manoah set the tone.

Boston has lost for the eighth time in its last nine games. However, Red Sox fans will surely be delighted on Sunday when former baseball player David Ortiz is inducted into the Hall of Fame. Many of them traveled to Cooperstown, New York, to see Big Papy.

Manoah (11-4) allowed one run, on Bobby Dalbeck’s Homer, and seven hits. He didn’t walk, hit a seven and his ERA came out to 2.24.

For the Blue Jays, Mexican Alejandro Kirk 3-1 with RBI. Dominican Tuscar Hernandez 4-1 with one production; Santiago Espinal 4-1 with a run scored and RBI. Cuban Lourdes Gouriel Jr 3-0.

For the Red Sox, Puerto Rican Cristian Vazquez 3-1. Dominican Franchi Cordero 4-0. Venezuela’s Yulimar Sanchez 3-0.
