Message from the New Zealand delegation to the Ibaguereños

Don’t miss the competitions until September 30 with free entry: “We’ll have a free skating day and one of our competitors will come from New Zealand.”

10 days ago Aspen Fell, together with three other skaters, came from New Zealand to Ibagué to participate in the World Figure Skating Championships, which can be enjoyed until next September 30 at the Coliseum “La Fe en Dios” located in the sports park.

Athletes from the continent of Oceania are competing in the senior dance categories for women and men and the junior dance for women and men at the Coliseum Mayor’s Skating Rink of the sports park, where they gathered these days for training.

“I like to eat a good breakfast before a match, then go to the rink, do a little warm-up without skates, drink lots of fluids and hydration drinks, and then train with skates,” says Aspen.

About his first stay in Ibagué, he says: “I love it, I love its people, they are very charming, we have not visited its historical part yet, I think we will do it tomorrow; We did a lot of shopping and ate a lot of rice, chicken and arepas which I loved, they were really good and my favorite.

He concluded by inviting all Ibaguereños with free entry not to miss the competitions until September 30:

“We’ll have a free skate day and we’ll have one of our competitors from New Zealand in the men’s free skate, so we’re looking forward to seeing you tonight as there will be a lot to see.”
