Mexico will insist on a global truce at the United Nations to ensure peace

In his morning press conference at the National Palace, the president questioned Europe’s position on the issue of the conflict in Ukraine, because instead of promoting peace, a negotiated diplomatic solution, he insists on the military.

He specifically accused the European Parliament of proposing more confrontational measures instead of looking for ways to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine.

He said that those who suffer from the policies of economic sanctions and the continuation of the war that cause and increase negative problems such as inflation and scarcity are the European peoples who pay dearly for everything.

López Obrador insisted on the direct intervention of the UN Secretary-General, Prime Minister of India and Pope Francis, in a commission to bring peace to Ukraine and bring about a six-year armistice in the world until the economy recovers.

He considered that the United Nations did not want to confront the serious problem of inequality and corruption in the world, and now it is suffering from war and nothing is being done.

As for Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s announced visit to Mexico in September, he said he believed it would address the energy issue.

He explained that Mexico considers it a political and not a technical issue, because at this level it has already been raised, discussed and accepted, as seen in a meeting with 16 American businessmen, which does not affect or violate the FTA. with Canada and the United States.

There is a lot of political pressure and he gave as an example statements made by the US Commerce Secretary talking about the energy reform that Enrique Peña Nieto agreed to in favor of foreign companies.

And he said it’s something incompatible with that official because Mexico is an independent and sovereign country, and that’s one of the reasons for the letter to President Joe Biden, to which he has not yet responded.

He pointed out that there are elections in the United States next November, and everything is conditioned by this circumstance.

He took the opportunity to insist that Mexico would not play alongside any candidate on either side, and reiterated that they would caution the 40 million Mexicans and other Latinos living there not to vote for those who abuse their fellow citizens, mistreat immigrants, or discriminate. They are xenophobic.

He deplored the existence of some legislators who call themselves Latin Americans the most disastrous thing in the United States because of their rejection of immigrants and even citizens, and they have forgotten how they or their parents came to that nation, and have become so apostate, worse than the Americans themselves, and it does not matter which party they are.
