Moscow says the unauthorized use of the humanitarian corridor is for other purposes

Vershinin stressed that Russia stressed the importance of strict compliance with the agreed operating rules of the joint coordination center on the basis of the principle of compatibility and the inadmissibility of misuse of the sea humanitarian corridor.

He also informed his Turkish counterpart, Sedat Onal, of the Ukrainian army’s attacks on civilian facilities in the newly joined Russian regions.

On July 22, Russia, Turkey and the United Nations signed an agreement to lift the ban on grain exports from Ukraine in the midst of hostilities.

Representatives of the Ukrainian government signed a similar document with Ankara and representatives of the United Nations.

In addition, Moscow signed a memorandum with the United Nations to facilitate the export of Russian fertilizers and agricultural products to international markets.

In the context of the so-called Black Sea Grain Initiative, a joint coordination center has been established in Istanbul to ensure the safety of bulk carriers transporting grain from Ukraine and to carry out relevant inspections.

On September 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced that grain ships leaving Ukraine’s ports under the food agreement are not heading to developing or needy countries, but to European Union member states.

For his part, the Russian ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed that the terms of the agreement on the export of Russian foodstuffs and fertilizers do not work.

On November 17, the food agreement was extended by 120 days.
