New Zealand revamps its XV to face Uruguay at World Cup

Only six starters will be fielding against the Deros from their previous 96-17 win over Italy.

In the first line, left prop Oba Duungafasi and hooker Cody Taylor retain their places, while Tyrell Lomax, right prop and substitute for ‘Nacionale’, will play for the first time after recovering from an injury near his knee with thirty stitches. A starter in the World Cup.

Third rower Shannon Frizzell, sidelined for an extended period with a hamstring injury, will start his second straight game. He missed the Blacks’ first two games with a knee problem, as did center Jordy Barrett.

New Zealand need to beat Uruguay to qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament but will have to wait for the result of France-Italy in Lyon on Friday to determine whether they will finish first or second in their group and thereby know their opponent in the knockout stage.
