New Zealand settlement opens for refugees from war in Ukraine

The Government announced on Saturday that it would grant New Zealand citizenship to war refugees from Ukraine under a special visa introduced last year.

Ukrainian special visa holders whose document was issued before March 15, 2024 will be able to apply for residency in New Zealand, the government said on its website. The 12-month permit opened to applicants in March 2022 and was extended for another year in February.
