Nueva Zelanda reabrirá sus fronteras a partir de febrero de 2022

New Zealand will reopen its borders from February 2022

New Zealand announced this Wednesday, November 24, that it will reopen its borders in phases to fully vaccinated people from next year.

In a statement, Chris Hipkins, the country’s response minister to the COVID-19 epidemic, said that as a first step, fully vaccinated New Zealand nationals and holders of residence visas can travel from Australia to Australia without being isolated. January 16.

Fully vaccinated New Zealanders and holders of residence permits can enter the country from February 13, the report added.

According to the report, the country will open its borders to all international travelers from April 30. However, travelers must show evidence of a negative COVID-19 test and vaccination.

“Closing our border is one of the first steps we have taken to keep our country safe from COVID-19, and it will be the last thing we will open following our transition to a security framework,” Hipkins said.

“We have a clear, simple and secure plan, which includes a period of compulsory self-isolation. The border will be opened in three steps,” the minister added.

New Zealand, Fiji, India, Pakistan and Brazil have been removed from the list of high-risk countries and travelers from these countries will be able to enter from next year.

However, Papua New Guinea will continue to be on the list of high-risk countries.

There have been 10,609 cases and 40 deaths reported in New Zealand since the outbreak last year.

According to the Ministry of Health, 92% of people have received the first dose of the vaccine for COVID-19, while 84% have been fully vaccinated.
