Nicaragua and Iran are united by the love of freedom, says the deputy

During a courtesy session in the Legislative Council where Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who is on a state visit here, was received, the Nicaraguan MP noted that the aim of both revolutions is to seek the betterment of their people.

He added that the two countries are also united by permanent defensive action against a common enemy: North America and global imperialism.

Porras stated in his speech that when assemblies are the result of the popular vote, parliaments are generous and responsive to people’s needs, and “This is what is happening in Nicaragua and Iran.”

It also highlighted the strength of the two countries in preventing their enemies from defeating and breaking the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the Islamic Revolution and the Sandinistas.

For his part, the head of the Persian state thanked the authorities for the invitation and pointed out that Latin America is a land of great men and women striving for independence, freedom and the right to self-determination.

In this sense, he alluded to the imperial policy of powers such as the United States and emphasized that it always manifests itself against the formation of popular governments in the region.

“The main feature of global imperialism is that, with its demands and colonization, it always seeks to abuse and exploit people, and it is always against their will,” he said.

The ruler highlighted the common position of Nicaragua and Iran in fighting the plots, intrigues and coup plans of the enemy during the 44 years of both revolutions.

“There are two wills on this battlefield: the will of the peoples who seek independence, freedom and justice, and their faith in God; and the other is imperialism, which seeks to achieve its goals with its selfishness. He emphasized that whoever will be victorious will be the will of the peoples.
