The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MINCYT) of the Argentine Republic and the Ibero-American Organization for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) celebrate the organization of the CINECIEN 2023 International Festival of Scientific and Audiovisual Films in Buenos Aires – which will be held at the MINCYT Cultural Sciences Center from 12 to 14 October – it will be Participation is free and will target the general public, schools and professionals in the audiovisual, science and science communication universe.
CINECIEN 2023 seeks to demonstrate the value of the image within scientific knowledge, whether to disseminate or explore it. It is about connecting audiences to content emerging from all areas of human knowledge and scholars to the audiovisual world.
The festival is organized and coordinated by anthropologist and film director Carmen Guarini, who has extensive experience as a documentary filmmaker and visual anthropologist. During the three days, you can attend the screening of films by famous directors such as Leandro Lestorte, Mariano Donoso, Alejandra Almiron, Nicolás Ordóñez, Luisa Homem, Maximiliano Lena, and Tomás Saraceno, covering different topics related to the world of science and technology such as artificial intelligence, mathematics, anthropology, archaeology, caving and science. Botany, biology, physics, oceanography and astronomy.
At the end of each job, you will be able to talk with managers and figures from the world of science. In addition, works by audio-visual artists will be presented in non-traditional formats such as video installations, 360-degree videos, and more.
