An airline spokesman said a passenger “verbally and physically” assaulted a Southwest Airlines employee during the boarding process from Dallas to LaGuardia Airport in New York.
Dallas police said passenger Ariel Jane Jackson, 32, boarded the plane and had a “verbal altercation” with a flight attendant in the back of the plane.

Police said Jackson then went to the front of the plane, where he encountered a second employee who hit him “with a closed fist on the head.”
Dallas police said the employee was taken to hospital in stable condition, while Jackson has been charged with aggravated battery.
“Southwest Airlines It maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding any kind of harassment or assault, and we fully support our employee as we cooperate with local authorities regarding this unacceptable incident,” the airline said in a written statement.
The reason for the dispute was not disclosed.
