Lima, ap. 21 (EFE) .- The Peruvian football team will face New Zealand in Barcelona on June 5 as part of the preparations for the Qatar 2022 World Cup playoff match against the winner of the clash between Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has announced that Real Club Deportivo EspaƱol Stadium will play against the All Whites, who will qualify for another playoff World Cup against Costa Rica.

“In conjunction with the technical command of Professor Ricardo Carreca, we have decided to host a friendly against New Zealand on June 5 at the Espanyol Stadium in Barcelona. We face a strong team. The way to win the World Cup,” FPF President Augustin Lozano said in a statement.

The Peruvian team will travel to Spain on May 28 and stay in Barcelona until June 10, when they will travel to Doha to “practice”.

In Peru, Australia have been given a potential contender, with the Peruvians already trailing 2-0 with goals from Andre Guerrero and Pavlo Guerrero in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
