He stressed, in this context, that international peace and security are threatened as a result of the reckless military maneuvers of the United States and its allies, which may lead to the outbreak of nuclear war in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

On several occasions, the DPRK leadership has reiterated its decision to defend sovereignty and national interests against threats from the United States and its satellites, in order to maintain a peaceful environment on and around the Korean Peninsula.
