SES reorganizes consultations in the Health Center of the Southern Region due to a malfunction in the elevator – Merida

The Extremadura Health Service (SES) will reorganize and move the consultations of the Obispo Paulo de Merida Health Center from Monday, in addition to strengthening the staff to inform patients and direct them to the different consultations, due to the breakdown of the elevator.

This transfer attempts to prevent patients who, due to their health conditions, from going up to the upper floors using stairs, from having to do so.

The reason for this situation is an elevator malfunction that takes longer to fix due to a damaged part that needs to be replaced, but which requires shipping and repair outside of Extremadura.

For this reason, during the repair of the elevator, medical and nursing consultations on the first floors will be prepared to take care of patients who cannot go up to the upper floors, facilitating access through the main door and through the side door.

The reinforcement of staff will consist of organization and nursing, the latter also to assist with the first aid kit located on the access floor of the center, as reported on Sunday by Junta de Extremadura in a press release.

“These are aging elevators that SES plans to completely replace through the MINAP plan, which was recently approved by the National Health System Regional Council,” said the regional executive director.

Specifically, it is the project “Adaptation, improvement and expansion of access to primary health care centers by means of elevators in the Mérida region”, which has a total value of €559,979.
