Singer Louis Tomlinson unleashed madness among his Peruvian fans

Lima, June 1 (EFE). The arrival in Lima of former English band One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, who will perform on Wednesday in the Peruvian capital, has caused frenzy among his fans in Peru, who have queued for days. And protect him in his songs to see him in the front row.

“I’ve been a fan of Luis since One Direction, since 2013,” Jessica Velazquez told Evie, who came from the southern city of Ica for the concert and had been near Lima’s Arena Peru for three days.

Most of his fans, young people and teenagers, queued around the stadium for several days and also gathered on Monday and Tuesday nights to welcome the British singer at his hotel in Lima’s affluent Miraflores neighborhood.

Naomi, who has been queuing since 3 a.m. and has known the interpreter since she was six, says she’s “so excited.”

“I want to meet him now,” he said with a group of his friends. “I’ve already seen him at the hotel but I want to listen to him.”

She added excitedly, “I didn’t get the tickets the first time, so it got really bad, but I’m so glad I’m going to meet him now, it’s such a big emotion, I want to cry.”

For his part, the 30-year-old English singer and composer of the “Walls” album, which was released in 2020, acknowledged, via his Twitter account, how surprised he was by the “wonderful welcome” from the Peruvian public.

“For a lot of people, his music is a release from stress, and his music makes us feel very at peace,” Dominica, a young woman from Ecuador, said in line shortly before entering the show.

Tomlinson hasn’t played in Peru since 2014, when he was still part of the group One Direction, which broke up in 2015 after five years of global success.

Illica, after 11 hours in line and eight years as a Tomlinson fan, is “so excited to be in concert.”

“I already have all the adrenaline on me, I can’t stand it anymore and don’t know what to do when I see him. I’ll start screaming and crying, I really waited,” said the young woman shortly before the stadium doors opened, causing more hysteria among the fans. EFE
