Sonic Frontiers, first content update arrives

SEGA has announced that the first content update for Sonic Frontiers for 2023 (Sights, Sounds, Speed) will be available Thursday, March 23 at 01:00AM for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ family of systems, and Steam. The Sights, Sounds and Speed update is the first of three content updates scheduled for this year and adds new features including Music Box, Photo Mode, and new challenge modes.

Here are the details of the new features:

  • New Challenges – After completing the main story campaign, players can access new challenges: Cyber Challenge and All Out Combat, via the title screen. Cyber Challenge is a time trial mode where players will race against time to complete multiple cyber stages in a row. Additionally, it will introduce the all-out Sonic Frontiers Combat, a timed battle mode where you fight against multiple enemies, Guardians, and Titans.
  • Photo Mode – To recall their adventures on the Starfall Islands, players can open the pause menu and enter photo mode, which will pause the game and display a freely moving camera.
  • Music Box – Players can listen to their favorite Sonic songs all over the Starfall Islands with the new Music Box. With 53 tracks available, players will have instant access to 13 songs and can unlock the remaining 40 songs by earning Sonic Memories on each island.

Also coming this year are two more updates for Sonic’s arena action adventure, including new features, challenges, playable characters, and more.

Sonic Frontiers is now out on PlayStation®5 (PS5™), PlayStation®4 (PS4™), and Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch family of systems and PC (Steam).
