Martin Cotteruccio led Sporting Cristal with two goals and Union Comercio suffered a crushing 5-1 defeat at the Alberto Gallardo Stadium on Saturday.
The team, led by Anderson Moreira, also won with goals from Santiago Gonzalez, Ignacio and Justin Alarcón, while Teodoro Paredes scored for the visitors.
Gonzalez put the hosts ahead in the 13th minute with a direct shot. The midfielder shot a low shot into the right corner after combining with defender Nicholas Pasquini. One minute later, Paredes equalized the score.
Ignacio’s header from a corner kick put Cristal ahead again after 13 minutes, with Gonzalez providing one of his three assists. Seven minutes later, João Grimaldo assisted Alarcón so he could put his team ahead, hitting the net off the post.
Five minutes later, Cutiruccio increased the pressure on the visitors. The striker finished a play in which Gonzalez went through the goal frame to score his first two goals, and the goalkeeper was able to touch the ball, but he was unable to prevent it from entering. Sporting Cristal’s last goal came in extra time from Cutruccio, who scored with a header after an assist from Gonzalez.
With this victory, Crystal achieved three consecutive victories over Union Comercio.
