Starting March 4, CBP One will implement two changes to appointment booking

Effective Monday, March 4, two new changes will be implemented in the CBP One appointment system. According to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the modifications are necessary to achieve better service.

One of the changes relates to the implementation of the new timetables. For example, the window to request appointments will be reduced to 11 hours and 59 minutes per day. This will limit bookings between 12pm and 11:59pm ET in the US.

This major modification will improve process management and security. Likewise, abuse of the system will be avoided and applicant planning will be facilitated. Experts estimate that in any case, the system will continue to collapse.

As is known, tens of thousands make appointments every day and only 1,450 places are given per day. They are distributed at eight control points along the more than three thousand kilometers border between the United States and Mexico.

Travel groups

Another change concerns travel groups. The Department of Homeland Security revealed that from now on all members must share a common destination address in the United States. Only then can they request a joint appointment.

This simplifies the group verification process and ensures that all members have legitimate and coordinated intentions.

The appointment confirmation process will now include geo-location verification and vitality verification. Users will have 23 hours after notification to complete these steps.
