The Coffee Festival in Vietnam exceeded expectations

Concluding the event for aromatic beans yesterday, the official stressed that the main objective of the festival is to promote brands and promote the development of this crop in Vietnam, while gradually transforming the city of Buon Ma Thuot into a global destination for coffee.

Tuan Ha said the meeting also provided an opportunity to develop the national coffee industry, promote economic growth and improve the living conditions of local residents.

As part of the program of the 8th Festival, a conference was organized “Creating a Chain of High-Quality Vietnamese Coffee Sector Linked to Green Growth and Sustainable Development,” which confirmed that the country allocates more than 710 thousand hectares to this crop with an annual yield of 1.8 million tons.

Today, Vietnam is the world’s second largest coffee exporter and the largest seller of Robusta.

Vietnamese grain has reached more than 85 countries and regions through exports, which in 2022 will reach more than four billion dollars, more than 15 percent of the global market share.

The 2023 International Trade Communications Conference was also held under the slogan “Café Buon Ma Thuot – Connecting Passion and Ambition to Development”, which was attended by about 450 representatives of importers, distributors, companies and cooperatives that produce, process and supply coffee. the product.

The meeting served the national and foreign entities importing and exporting coffee to sign 10 memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements, and to promote the image of Da Lak Province and the geographical indication Café Buon Ma Thuot, which is already protected in 32 countries. world.

Another activity carried out in the context of the coffee festival that has attracted the attention of visitors is the Bon Don Elephant Festival 2023, which was held in the border municipality of Krung Na with the aim of honoring the cultural values ​​of the ethnicity. minorities in the central highlands.

The VIII Buon Ma Thuot 2023 Coffee Festival featured 37 international delegations, including two artistic representations from Champasak provinces in Laos and Jeollabuk in South Korea.
