Philadelphia – Nico Horner scored a tiebreaker in ten of five games as the Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2 on Saturday.
Hoerner started 10th as an automatic runner at second base. He stole third place by a goal difference and scored in a game of choice by Frank Schweindel, who was swept away in second by Jose Alvarado (3-2) and third baseman Alec Bom went away.
The Cubs went up by two on the RBI song by Christopher Morrell. A Bohm error on the field allowed defender Nelson Velazquez to score two goals before Willson Contreras added the RBI double for 6-1.
Boom drove his car into a chimney run down the bottom.
David Robertson (3-0) made a perfect ninth to win.
Zach Wheeler provided seven solid innings for Philly, who lost the first two games of the series to the humble Cubs.
