The Dolphins beat the Saints to reach the NFL Playoffs

First Amendment: Last update:

Los Angeles (AFP) – Young Tua Tagovailoa threw for 198 yards and landed to lead the Miami Dolphins to a 20-3 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday, the seventh in a row for Florida State.

The Dolphins, who lost seven games in a row before that streak, are one of the biggest surprises of the NFL season.

With 8 wins and 7 defeats, the Dolphins settled for seventh and final place in the American Conference playoffs with two rounds remaining before the end of the regular season.

Miami also regained confidence in Tagovailoa, who during the winning streak completed 74% of his passes, the best number in the NFL.

The Hawaiian quarterback, who was recruited in 2020 before Justin Herbert, now a superstar for the Chargers, has been widely questioned about his performances early in his career.

On Monday, Nick Needham opened the scoring for Miami with a drop from 28 yards after intercepting a pass from Ian Book, the Saints’ rising quarterback.

Jason Sanders added a 48-yard field goal for the Dolphins, while Brett Maher responded with another 38-yard field goal for the Deadly Saints, who have as many as 22 players on the COVID-19 casualty list.

Miami’s Gillen Waddell scored another goal on a one-yard pass from Tagovailoa and Sanderson added a field goal from 34 yards to seal the final score.

The Saints stayed 7-8, tied with Minnesota and Atlanta and one game behind San Francisco and Philadelphia, which temporarily held the last two playoff points in the National Conference.
