The general session of the General Confederation of Labor in Argentina was held

Buenos Aires, January 10 (Prensa Latina) More than 300 people will participate today in the national plenary session of the regional delegations of the General Confederation of Workers (CGT) in Argentina, a step ahead of the strike scheduled for the 24th against government measures. .

The event will be attended by representatives of the union center from all over the country and is part of a combat plan that included filing appeals against the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) issued by President Javier Miley, as well as celebrating meetings with representatives and senators on that document and the package of laws presented by the President. .

On December 28, the CGT announced that it would hold a general strike and march to Congress on December 24 to reject the amendment plan, the anti-protest protocol, the DNU, and the draft known as the Omnibus Law.

The decree stipulates the abolition of more than 300 regulations, including laws on rent, supply, land, and industrial and commercial promotion.

It also agrees to reform the labor system, amends the Civil and Commercial Code, and changes the regulatory framework for prepaid medicine and social businesses.

For its part, the regulatory package defines a state of economic, pension, security, defense, tariff, energy, health, administrative and social emergency until December 31, 2025.

It grants legislative powers to the executive branch, and indicates that it may extend the aforementioned period for two years.

In addition, it provides for the privatization of companies, abolishes primary elections, allows the renegotiation or termination of public administration contracts, suspends the system of increasing pension assets every three months and restricts the freedom of protest and assembly, among other measures.
