Guanajuato, Guanajuato October 16, 2023.- GTO Health System Through the health jurisdiction an intensive dengue prevention operation has been initiated at the 51st International Cervantino Festival.

Issuing the following recommendations to residents to combat dengue fever: keep the yard and deck clean and tidy, get rid of containers in which water accumulates (used tires, buckets, old toys), cover water tanks for consumption, and change the water in vases every three days.

The Minister of Health added that in spatial and thermal fogging operations in the city of Guanajuato, 1,291 hectares were worked using 335 liters of pesticides and protecting a population of 193,618 inhabitants.

As part of larval control activities, 5,199 homes have been visited so far; – Implementing control procedures in 3,747 and 27,864 containers.

435 containers were treated with larvicides, 5,985 containers were destroyed and 19,087 were controlled.

14,100 kg of timevo was used to protect a population of 5,306 people, achieving 70% coverage.

Diaz Martinez confirmed that a random entomological survey was conducted throughout the city to know the current status of the index of positive homes in a comparative manner, prior to anti-larval measures in 21 colonies distributed in the programmed area.

Of the 690 homes screened, 10 were found positive, creating a global positive homes index of 10.
